Smart-ID

1. Service Introduction

Smart-ID is a secure electronic signature and identity service tool developed by SK ID Solutions in Estonia. The platform supports the generation of Qualified Electronic Signatures (QES) compliant with the eIDAS standard, which have the same legal effect as handwritten signatures and are recognized throughout the EU.

3. Signature Level Support

• Advanced Electronic Signature (AdES): All Smart-ID account levels support electronic signatures that are technically compliant with AdES.

• Qualified Electronic Signature (QES): Smart-ID is certified as a Qualified Signature Creation Device (QSCD) in its Qualified level account, capable of generating QES signatures with the same legal status as handwritten signatures, and recognized by eIDAS and the EU Trust List.

4. Dependency Requirements

• Smart-ID App: Signature operations require the installation of the official Smart-ID mobile App

• Qualified Account: To perform QES signatures, the account must be upgraded to the Qualified level

5. Compliance Description

Smart-ID fully complies with the EU eIDAS (Regulation (EU) No 910/2014) requirements, is certified by QSCD, and supports the generation of QES signatures with the highest legal effect.
