MitID

1. Service Introduction

MitID is Denmark’s national electronic identity system, launched in collaboration between Danish banks and the public sector, replacing the original NemID. MitID can be used for authorized electronic signatures, supported by eID Easy in cross-EU signing scenarios, for generating legally binding electronic signatures.

2. Region

MitID is issued to Danish residents and holders of a Danish identity number (CPR number) and can be used in various fields such as public services, banking, and taxation. Its operating partners include the Danish Agency for Digital Government, financial institutions, etc. Learn more

4. Dependency Requirements

To use MitID for signing, the following are usually required:

  • Users need to have the MitID app.

  • Possess a smart device (smartphone or tablet) or other devices supporting MitID to complete authentication and signing operations. The MitID app can be used to approve signature operations.

5. Compliance Description

MitID complies with relevant electronic identity and trust service regulations in Denmark and the EU, meeting the Danish NSIS standard and eIDAS requirements.
