How do signers verify their identity?
eSignGlobal currently employs a standard email authentication mechanism, where email addresses are agreed upon and provided by both parties during the pre-business stage. To enhance security, eSignGlobal also supports multiple identity verification methods, including access codes, iAM Smart verification, SMS verification codes, and identity authentication.
When using access code verification, the initiator can set a customized code (supporting text, numbers, letters, and symbols) for each signer individually. After clicking the signing link in the email, the signer must pass the access code verification to view and sign the document.
eSignGlobal Verification Methods
- Access Code Verification
- When initiating a signing process, the sender can set an access code verification(e.g., a custom combination of numbers and letters) for the signing step. After receiving the signing notification, the signer clicks into the signing page, where the system prompts them to enter the passcode.Only after entering the correct access code can the signer proceed with the e-signature operation, completing identity confirmation and the signing process.
- iAM Smart Verification (for Hong Kong region)
- If the sender enables this verification method, the signer will be redirected to the iAM Smart authentication interface (or its service will be called within an integrated environment). The signer must follow the instructions to provide identity information registered with iAM Smart (e.g., Hong Kong Digital Identity or linked credentials).Once iAM Smart verifies the authenticity and validity of the information, it automatically sends the result back to eSignGlobal. Upon successful verification, the signer can proceed with the signing process.
- ID Verification
- If the sender enables this method, the signing process will guide the signer to upload a valid ID document (e.g., front and back photos of the ID card).eSignGlobal uses identity verification services to check the authenticity and validity of the uploaded document, including verifying the ID number, name, photo consistency, etc.Once verified, the user is allowed to proceed with electronic signing.
- SMS Verification (OTP)
- When this method is enabled, the system automatically sends a one-time password (OTP, typically 6-8 digits) to the mobile number specified by the sender upon the signer entering the signing interface. The user must enter the received OTP in the designated field within the time limit. After successful verification, the identity is confirmed, and the signer can proceed with the signing process.
Does eSignGlobal support corporate seals?
Yes. For corporate signers, you can designate a stamp field in the contract where the company seal is required (whether an individual is authorized to sign on behalf of the company must be verified offline by the requesting party). During signing, the signer may choose to draw a handwritten signature or upload a seal image. To apply the corporate seal, simply upload the seal image to complete the process.
